The Massey Harris Challenger tractor has a special place in
my heart.
My great - grandfather's Challenger is what got me interested in all this rusty
old stuff.....
The tractor was delivered in the spring of 1936......
My great uncle, Theodore Roosevelt Stone, is seen here plowing with it in the spring of 1936. The steel wheels were replaced with F&H round spokes in 1937, while my great grandparents were in Milwaukee for a wedding. My great grandfather was NOT happy about it, and made sure that they kept the steel wheels to put back on the tractor when the rubber tires failed. So far the original set of Firestones is still holding air.......
